Better to wake up with a paintbrush… by *daPatches
Shamelessly rebloging a part of my own post because this picture reminded me so much of it, especially because Peeta is painting Katniss.
In my headcanon for Peeta’s paintings, he’s not only painting his nightmares to get them out of his head, he paints also to distinguish what’s real and what’s not. Sometimes his nightmares are so vivid it’s hard to tell if they were only nightmares or it really happened that way in the arena. And he paints moments like the kiss in the snow, pays attention to the way Katniss’s face looked, where her hands were, did she lean towards him or not. He tries to distinguish how much of moments like those was real and how much was for show. His paintings are the beginning of real and not real for him.
